Youth Performing Arts at Shore Country Day School in Beverly, MA, is dedicated to offering young people exciting opportunities to hone their skills and share in the creative power of performance. Guided by professional artists, participants will be both challenged and supported as they aspire to reach new heights in their craft, whether on stage or behind the scenes. YPA values the strength of diversity, and strives to affirm the individuality and potential of every participant.

DIRECTOR | SARAH CARLIN
Sarah Carlin has been teaching theater, directing productions, and acting for over 25 years. Prior to receiving her Masters degree in Theatre Education, she received her B.F.A in Dance from Ohio State University, and danced professionally for 10 years. Since moving to Massachusetts, Ms. Carlin has directed and performed in numerous productions in the Boston area, including Wit (Director, Salem Theatre Company), Boys of Winter (Boston Playwrights Theatre), The Visit (Mugford Street Theatre), Shooting Star, Later Life, The Real Thing, and A Delicate Balance (Salem Theatre Company), and Saltonstall’s Trial (Punctuate4). Currently on the faculty at Shore Country Day School, her recent youth productions have included Once Upon a Mattress, Starmites, Once On This Island, The Music Man, Honk!, Mary Poppins, Shrek The Musical, Bye Bye, Birdie, and Oliver. She believes that theatre builds bridges, fosters empathy, and makes the world a better place for all.
 
MUSIC DIRECTOR | JANET GLASSER
A Massachusetts native, Janet Glasser has been active in theater for over 3 decades. She has a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Lawrence University in Wisconsin, and a Masters in Conducting from East Carolina University in North Carolina. She has served as Music Director for many productions with actors ranging from 5 to adult, most recently co-founding and serving as President for Entr’acte Theatre Company, Inc. She has also worked with other area companies such as Stage 284 in South Hamilton, North Shore Children’s Theater in Marblehead, and North Shore Players in Danvers. She teaches voice and piano from her home studio in Wenham, and is also the accompanist for Shore Country Day School in Beverly.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR | VINCENT LAINO
Vincent Laino is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Design & Technology. Over the past decade, he has trained and worked with dozens of local and regional performing arts companies, such as ArtsEmerson, Emerson Stage, the Summerscape Festival at Bard College, the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Ogunquit Playhouse, Boston Center for the Arts, Fresh Ink Theater, Hub Theater Company, and Lighthouse Youth Theater in Armonk, New York, where he served as the Technical Director for their school year and Summer Theater Workshop programs for several years. He has also worked with several local middle and high schools in both New York and Massachusetts, providing lighting and sound support for their theatrical productions. Currently, Vincent is the Technical Theater Director at Shore Country Day School in Beverly.

Shore Country Day School is a Pre-K through Grade 9 coeducational day school located in Beverly, MA.
